With increasing levels of new sources of gas connecting to the gas distribution networks, it is critical to have the supporting commercial framework in place that is fit for purpose, and can encourage and facilitate these developments. From the feedback already received we know there are a number of areas of this framework, which covers contracts (including contracted capacity), industry codes and pricing methodologies, that need updating to support a step change in gas injections. Cadent are therefore launching a review, with support from our Industry Associations, and we’d love your organisation’s support for this initiative and to help shape the process, and the final outputs.
We are holding a kick-off event for the Entry Gas Review on August 20th at The Studio, 7, Cannon Street, Birmingham, B2 5EP, with an initial focus on how network pricing changes can support investment in network capacity, but also to seek feedback on other areas of the regulatory framework that may need to be challenged, and how we take this programme of work forward.
