The Environmental Land Management Scheme: feed into the replacement to CAP

21 April, 2020 3:00PM - 4:30PM

Venue: Virtual meeting on Remo

ADBA is currently preparing its response to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affair's consultation on the new Environmental Land Management (ELM) Scheme and we want your feedback. We are therefore hosting an interactive meeting using the platform Remo to present our planned response, network and discuss the proposed policy, and hear back what you think.

Getting renewable generation recognised as land use for public good

The ELM Scheme will replace the EU's Common Agricultural Policy and is being designed to reward farmers for using their land for the public good, particularly for delivering positive environmental benefits. At present the proposal for the new scheme does not include using land for renewable energy generation and we plan to respond to recommend this is changed, especially that AD, which delivers a multitude of environmental benefits, should be included as land use that delivers public good.

As ever, we want to make sure our response to this consultation reflects the views of our members and so we will be presenting our plans for the response at this event and then gathering feedback from you, our members. The more members that attend the more fruitful the discussions will be, so please join us there at 3pm on 21st April!

Registration page to follow shortly. In the meantime, please get in touch with Rebecca Thompson, our Senior Policy Manager, with any questions.
