Charlotte Morton, Chief Executive 

  

A practising lawyer for 10 years, Charlotte Morton studied for her MBA at London Business School before setting up a car club business. Asked to establish the business side of ADBA in 2009, she saw the potential of an industry that can deliver huge value to the UK. But she didn’t stop there. In 2016, she played a pivotal role in establishing the World Biogas Association to promote and increase the rate of uptake of biogas globally – she sees biogas as having an even bigger potential on a global scale, especially as the world takes on achieving the Paris Agreement climate change targets and UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Charlotte is also on the board of Green Gas Trading Ltd, which runs the Biomethane Certification Scheme.

Reason why you work at ADBA?  

"We can help support climate smart farming, reduce how much food we waste and make the most of what we do, reduce GHG emissions from organic wastes and commercial fertilisers, help address energy security, recycle the nutrients vital to our food production into biofertilisers and generate a constant supply of renewable energy."

 

Roberta Bontempo, Sales Manager

Roberta leads the membership and commercial team at ADBA. Her 12 years’ experience in events and publishing, 5 of which within the international power and energy sectors, helps her to support members and stakeholders alike achieve their business goals as efficiently as possible. Roberta works across the entire range of ADBA activities to support the industry in reaching its potential both in the UK and globally.

I want to be part of an industry which tackles how food waste is dealt with and treated, supports farming and the potential for other revenue streams and opens possibilities for cleaner fuel. Ellis Owen, Senior Sales Executive

Ellis supports members and non-members with creating bespoke solutions in order to grow their business and to ensure they have the best possible experience.

Cristina Martins, Senior Sales Executive

As a Senior Sales Executive and Account Manager at ADBA, Cristina advises her clients on how best to showcase their products and services. Jocelyne Bia, Senior Marketing Manager

Jocelyne is responsible for ADBA’s marketing activities.

She has 20 years’ experience working in communications and marketing, mostly in the energy sector, which has given her invaluable understanding of the need to develop a sustainable circular economy worldwide.

Her work focusses on using all communications and marketing channels available to promote ADBA and the association’s products and services, and support the delivery of successful events where all stakeholders in the sustainability and cleantech agendas can engage with each other and drive the growth of the AD and biogas industry.

Robert Zlokower, Marketing Manager – Membership

Robert supports membership recruitment and ongoing engagement activities, including communications and events organisation. He develops engaging marketing campaigns and upholds a strong interest in sustainability and circular economy innovation.

Jon Hughes, Editorial Manager

Jon is responsible for writing and editing AD & Bioresources News magazine. With a background in campaigning and environmental journalism, Jon’s role is to present AD as an industry-led solution to climate change and supplier of myriad other environmental services and economic benefits.

Chris Noyce, PR and Parliamentary Affairs Executive

Chris works to secure favourable and accurate coverage of the UK AD industry in trade and national press through pitching and writing editorials and features, issuing of press releases and responding to enquiries from the media. He also manages ADBA’s social media accounts.

Jon Harrison, External Affairs Manager   

Working closely with ADBA’s policy team, Jon leads the organisation’s lobbying work with politicians in Westminster, Whitehall and the devolved nations. This involves meeting with and corresponding with MPs, ministers and their advisers, responding to parliamentary enquiries and monitoring developments in government policy.

Jon has 5 years’ experience working in trade associations and several years previously working in Parliament on policy development.  He has a track record of successfully campaigning for changes to legislation and changes to the regulatory environment.

Ollie More, Head of Policy

Ollie supports and advises the ADBA policy team on all aspects of policy and industry issues. He works to improve the environmental and regulatory performance of the industry and ensure regulation is appropriate to the industry. If members have regulatory issues, they should contact Ollie.

"I joined ADBA in 20014 to promote the technology: it’s a ‘two for the price of one’ technology in that it provides energy as well as nutrients to produce food. What could be more useful than that!”

 

Thom Koller, Senior Policy Manager

Thom supports members on RHI and FIT eligibility as well as promoting biomethane as a transport fuel. He leads ADBA’s work with industry, government and regulators to bring about positive legislative and regulatory change to grow the AD industry. This includes responding to government consultations and formulating position papers.

"After completing my doctorate in international environmental law, I wanted to use policy to help make a difference to issues that are important to me – such as  climate change."

 

Nigel Kay, Senior Events Manager

Nigel leads on organising ADBA’s portfolio of national and international events. 

Nigel has 18 years’ experience in the events industry, including  international conferences and trade shows in Europe and Asia.

His role is the full end-to-end management of existing shows such as the successfully established UK AD and World Biogas Expo as well as mapping new national and international opportunities.

Events Admin and Production Assistant

 

Cheryl is the administrator for ADBA’s event portfolio and assists with the production of member and non-member events. Her responsibilities are inclusive but not exhaustive of registration, delegate tracking, reporting, venue liaison, research and event guide production.  She also assists with the production of ADBA publications including the Members’ Directory and AD & Bioresources News.

Subi Nagendra, Finance Manager

Subi leads the finance team to provide day-to-day accounting support to the business. She works closely with the CEO to play a critical role in the development of ADBA.

Angela provides day-to-day accounting support to the business.
