Orchard’s Mission

We Are Orchard is a management agency for associations that actively contribute to the development of an environmentally-friendly circular economy.  Our mission is to ensure we can live on this planet sustainably – but in order to achieve this, we need to effect change much faster than we are now. Focusing exclusively on industries that will help meet this objective, currently anaerobic digestion, biogas and cleantech, we provide management support to organisations that drive those game-changing sectors forward. 

 

We assist our clients in communicating their sector’s value, winning government support, accessing new markets, attracting investment and amplifying their R&D programmes. We offer strategic advice, a full range of management services (policy, membership, events, publications, and finance) and practical support to enable our partners to be as effective as possible.

 

Our current clients are the Anaerobic Digestion and Bioresources Association (ADBA) and the World Biogas Association (WBA).  Additionally, Orchard manages the annual cleantech innovation and investment match-making event Cleantech Innovate.


Who we are looking for

We are looking for a part-time database administrator (2-3 days/week) responsible for managing our databases of contacts in the sustainability sector, to join a passionate team on a mission to make a difference within dynamic and fast growing industries. As a member of the marketing team, the post-holder might also be asked to support related activities.


 

 

What will I be doing?

The core of the role will be to clean, maintain and grow databases of individuals and organisations working or interested in sustainability generally and specifically in the anaerobic digestion/biogas and cleantech industries, on behalf of ADBA, WBA and Cleantech Innovate. 
 

In addition to data entry, cleaning and updating, the role will/could entail:

reaching out to stakeholders to check contact details
carrying out online research to identify new targets for marketing and sales among industry professionals and organisations
supporting the marketing team with  social media activities, for example  interacting with influencers (ie “liking” and “sharing” their posts) to increase our market reach
supporting the marketing team with website management

 

What will I Need?

Essential

A belief in our mission and the desire to make a difference
Excellent eye for detail
Ability to understand and manage the architecture of a CRM system
Confidence in contacting senior-level decision-makers in a professional manner
Good telephone manner
Experience of using social media platforms

 

Desirable

Experience of using database software, in particular Workbooks
Experience of using a website “Content Management System”

Good copywriting skills
Knowledge of marketing and communications

 

You must be:

A self-starter with own ideas and suggestions
Bright, friendly, with a great can-do attitude
Someone who enjoys managing and cleaning data.
