ADBA welcomes EU Ministers' support for green economy

Reacting to the launch of the Joint Pamphlet – Going for Green Growth at the European Green Growth Summit, Charlotte Morton, chief executive, ADBA, said:

‘Going for Green Growth’ is a timely reminder that supporting low-carbon technology is vital not just for environmental sustainability but also for our economic prosperity.

 

The report is right to identify that low carbon industries such as biogas need clear, long term certainty from government, and that any investment will be returned to the economy many times over, not least through the export opportunities and jobs our technology and expertise are creating. The biogas industry in the UK grew by 36% in the last year alone.

 

We welcome the proposals in this report, and hope that they will be clearly and strongly reflected in UK and EU policy going forward.
