End of Waste position paper submitted

The UK bodies have submitted a joint position paper on prospective European End of Waste proposals. This is available to download here, with thanks to the members who submitted comments.

Defra is representing the UK at a technical meeting next week to discuss the Fertiliser Regulations, where End of Waste proposals now sit. Defra have received our paper, along with the European Commission directly. We will share any update from this meeting as soon as we have it. 

The UK's remains close to a lone voice in opposing the regulations, which we understand are still supported by most Member States and by the European trade bodies. Views from different countries should become more clear following meetings, at which point we will be better able to assess possible timescales and the likelihood of changes.
