Gas Data welcomes 100th AD plant

ADBA MEMBER PRESS RELEASE

Gas Data welcomed the news that the 100th anaerobic digestion plant has been built in the UK. Gas Data, a Midlands-based firm that manufactures portable and fixed biogas monitoring systems, plans to help grow the industry even more over the next five years.

Derrick Timms, sales manager of Gas Data, says:

People are waking up to the potential of AD and helping the UK to move away from its reliance on fossil fuels. We’ve also seen a number of new entrants into the market with the doubling of manufacturers in the industry. This demonstrates the perceived opportunity for growth.

Gas Data has also been appointed as an approved supplier to provide analytical instruments for monitoring gas on the UK’s first commercial biomethane plant.

Derrick adds:

People have been wary of biomethane from biogas in the UK until recently with uncertainty about its commercial viability, but investors are now building up the courage to go ahead and get the ball rolling. Once this process is embedded in the UK it will provide an additional incentive for AD growth.

It’s great to see that we have hit the 100 mark for commercial AD sites in the UK and Gas Data looks forward to promoting the growth of the industry for the next 100 sites.
