Kirk named environmental tech business of the year at Red Rose Awards 2013

The team at Kirk Environmental attended the Red Rose Awards 2013 at the Blackpool Winter Gardens and came home with the top prize for the Environmental Technology Business of the Year. The award recognised businesses operating in this growing sector which has become increasingly visible.

It was a great night where Lancashire businesses came together to celebrate their success and share their stories. Kirk was recognised for their portfolio of completed projects in 2012 and the amazing statistics of carbon footprint reduction and green energy produced at the plants across the UK. One scheme alone, based in Manchester, will now save 400,000 tonnes of CO₂ otherwise produced each year. The plant is set to produce enough renewable energy to power up to 8,000 homes and will generate an end produce that will be used as soil improver.
