MEMBER’S PRESS RELEASE: Agrivert achieves quality standard PAS110 at fourth and fifth AD facilities

In record timing after commissioning, Agrivert has gained PAS110 on both its new North London and South Wales AD facilities, located near St Albans in Hertfordshire and Bridgend in Wales.

These sites complete Agrivert’s now five-strong network of facilities in the UK and increases their food waste processing capacity up to 250,000 tonnes per annum, enabling them to consistently produce enough renewable electricity to power 25,000 local homes and businesses each year.

Having achieved PAS110 swiftly after the full commissioning of both sites, Agrivert is one of only a handful of AD operators to hold PAS110 at all of multiple their AD facilities.

PAS110 is a key industry quality standard backed by WRAP and the British Standards Institute and is achieved by demonstrating consistent quality in the digestate produced by individual plants across a number of criteria. Many stakeholders, particularly local authorities, place a large emphasis on the importance of working with PAS110-accredited facilities in recognition that such accreditation proves the highest quality of digestate, supporting security of the plant’s agricultural outlets. PAS110 also confirms that the digestate has achieved End of Waste status, becoming a product rather than a waste and therefore can be counted as recycling.

Alexander Maddan, Agrivert’s Chief Executive, said:

Agrivert is delighted to have been awarded PAS110 at our latest two AD plants. It is an important milestone and quality standard that gives confidence to all of our stakeholders that our procedures are robust, our digestate is of the highest quality and that Agrivert continues to maintain the best in class standards we have built over the years.
