MEMBER’S PRESS RELEASE: Bock Uk work with Cambridge University to investigate silage clamp design

Silage clamp and cover specialists Bock Uk are working with two students from Cambridge University to identify the current market for silage storage in the UK and any future developments in design which could benefit the industry.

Part of this research is an online questionnaire that anyone storing silage can answer – the team would appreciate it if you could take 2 minutes to complete it –

The two students joining Bock UK on the industrial placement, Jens Deloch and Faye Webber, who are both studying for a Master&rrsquo;s degree in Industrial Systems and Manufacturing will be working alongside Bock UK at their offices in Essex.

William Wilson, Business Development Manager for Bock UK, says:

We are delighted to have them on board and hope their technical experience in product development with companies such as Dyson, DB Schencher as well and the more unusual Barry Callebaut (the world’s largest manufacturer of chocolate) can help us take a fresh look at the silage clamp and cover market in the UK.

We know that as more silage is stored for use in AD the industry needs to innovate to reduce waste in the process and increase operator safety and efficiency.

The research will also be covering the storage of silage for the Livestock sector and will be completed in February.
