URGENT reminder to food waste operators – WRAP’s gate fee survey

WRAP is undertaking its eleventh annual gate fees survey, which investigates gate fees paid at waste treatment facilities throughout the UK. We are encouraging as many operators as possible to take part.

The deadline to fill in the survey is tomorrow, Friday 12th January, though it is now likely to remain open next week to allow time for any “late comers” to respond, so please click on the link below to access the survey forms and submit your response, ideally by Tuesday 16th January:

The operators section of the survey is particularly aimed at companies operating organic waste recycling facilities, specifically anaerobic digestion and in-vessel composting. All information received through the survey is aggregated, guaranteeing the confidentiality of all respondents’ data.

If you require support in completing the survey, or have any questions, Anthesis, WRAP’s contractor for this survey, can be contacted through the helpline number or email address given on the survey form.

Why is the gate fees survey important?

In the last couple of years of the gate fees survey, there have been those who have said that the gate fees quoted for anaerobic digestion in particular are not reflecting what is happening in the market.

The main reason for this is that response rates from AD operators in the past has been low. For WRAP, DEFRA and others to fully appreciate the pressures on the AD market, particularly in England, we need the results of the survey to be realistic and reflect actual market gate fees and trends, for which we need more responses.
