Sandra Sassow, SEaB Energy, nominated for Great British Entrepreneur Awards

ADBA MEMBER PRESS RELEASE

SEaB Energy is celebrating yet another award nomination this year after it’s chief executive, Sandra Sassow, was announced last night as a finalist for the ‘Eco Entrepreneur of the Year’ in the Great British Entrepreneur Awards.

The Great British Entrepreneur Awards, taking place on 19 November at the Grand Connaught Rooms in Central London, are set to become the recognised standard of excellence amongst entrepreneurs. They mark a new era for entrepreneurship in the UK and this inaugural event is set to acknowledge and celebrate the contribution and inspiration provided by entrepreneurial businesses.

Southampton-based SEaB Energy is the multi award winning manufacturer of small scale power plants that enable food and drinks producers, hospitality companies, farms and retailers to turn their food and other bio wastes into energy and revenue. Already this year SEaB Energy has scooped the 2013 Resource Revolution Award ‘Technology Trailblazer: Energy-from-Waste’ and selected as one of the Winners in the 2013 Defense Energy Technology Challenge. Sandra Sassow was also crowned the winner of the inaugural annual Global Pitch Competition at the We Own It Summit which promotes women’s participation in high-growth entrepreneurship. Later this month SEaB Energy will also be joining the Clean and Cool entrepreneurial mission to Brazil.

Speaking of the prestigious nomination, Sandra Sassow, chief executive, SEaB Energy, commented,

The kudos that these awards bring will further help us export the best of British renewable technologies to a host of emerging markets in order to help combat the threat of fuel poverty and provide isolated communities with the capability of generating their own localised power using waste as the fuel.

Simon Burton, founder of the Great British Entrepreneur Awards, said:

The entries we have received for the Great British Entrepreneur Awards can only be described as awe inspiring. The quality has been outstanding. The judges have had the extremely difficult task of whittling the great and good of the entrepreneurial community down to the very best and we are delighted by the companies that have made the shortlist. The Awards Ceremony itself in November will be a night to remember, with VIPs from the worlds of business and entrepreneurship gathering to celebrate entrepreneurial spirit in the UK.
