SEaB Energy one of the winners in the 2013 Defense Energy Technology Challenge

ADBA MEMBER PRESS RELEASE

SEaB Energy, the multi award winning manufacturer of small scale power plants, has been selected as one of the Winners in the 2013 Defense Energy Technology Challenge (DETC) that forms part a major part of the annual Asia Pacific Clean Energy Summit (Hawai‘i, September 9 – 11).

DETC winner logoAlong with 15 other winners, SEaB Energy was selected from a total of 244 applications to pitch at this major US defense industry convention. In collaboration with the U.S. Army, Navy and Air Force, DETC aims to identify the top defense-targeted clean energy solutions and match them to existing and upcoming testing and procurement opportunities.

SEaB Energy has developed a unique patented small scale power plant solution that converts food and bio-waste waste into energy using microbial technology. Having already successfully completed installations within the hospitality and food & drink sectors, SEaB Energy is now applying their self-sustainable technology to military and disaster recovery applications.

Governmental Defense Departments across the globe are now urgently seeking innovative energy solutions that will increase the safety of its troops, lower energy costs, and reduce its reliance on traditional energy supplies. SEaB Energy’s MuckBuster® meets this challenge by turning food, sceptic and bio waste into heat, biogas and electricity, thereby reducing the requirement for diesel. And because the MuckBuster® is housed in a standard ISO shipping container, it is both extremely portable and can easily be deployed into operational areas.

Last year, SEaB Energy was one of just nine companies world-wide to have been selected from over five hundred by the NASA backed sustainability initiative, ‘LAUNCH: Beyond Waste,’ as a provider of a global game-changing technology to address climate change.

SEaB Energy was last year selected from over five hundred applicants by the NASA backed sustainability initiative, ‘LAUNCH: Beyond Waste,’ as a provider of a global game-changing technology to address climate change, and most recently scooped the 2013 Resource Revolution Award ‘Technology Trailblazer: Energy-from-Waste’. SEaB Energy also won the 2012 UK ADBA Industry Award for Best Micro AD Project (<250kWh) for its installation at the University of Southampton Science Park and last year were chosen as one of the 16 most innovative and fastest growing Cleantech companies in Britain.
