Biogas Upgrading
In the biogas upgrading process, DMT Environmental Technology uses membrane technology. DMT’s Carborex®MS,  separates methane from carbon dioxide by using hollow fibres to separate the CO₂ from CH⁴. This process has the advantages that it is a dry process (no chemicals involved), it has low energy consumption and is easy to operate. The whole system is built on a skid or in a container which results in a low footprint and easy transportable system. It is, therefore, a clear cleantech solution with low operational costs (OPEX).

(Bio)gas Desulphurisation
Biogas is produced by fermentation of biological waste products and is considered to be one of the most important renewable energies as replacement of natural gas. Syngas is produced by gasification of a carbon-containing fuel and used as intermediate in generating synthetic natural gas. Both gases can contain hydrogen sulphide (H₂S), which needs to be removed to prevent corrosion problems and SOx emissions. Gas desulphurization is therefore essential.
DMT offers a wide portfolio for gas desulphurization: a pure chemical process Sulfurex®CR (Chemical Reaction), a biological process Sulfurex®BF (Biotrickling Filter), and a biochemical process Sulfurex®BR (Biological Regeneration) with integrates a bioreactor for the biological regeneration of the solvent.

Resource recovery
Substances which are difficult to digest are hydrolysed during the process. As a result, you receive more biogas from the same amount of biomass, while less biomass is being left after digestion. In addition, you can increase the biomass load going into digesters, due to the change of the hydrodynamics of the biomass.
The patented TurboTec® THP set-up with mixing and separation gives you a continuous configuration. The equipment is operating under stable conditions, without idle periods for process equipment at optimal investment costs. Furthermore, auxiliary equipment and energy consumption are at a continuous operation tailored to the project demand. Configuration adjustment can be made to customer requirements to avoid any contact with pre-hydrolysed and post-hydrolysed material.

Our sustainable technology for the recovery of raw materials and nutrients from wastewater is one of the most efficient technologies on the market to date. Biomass Hydrolysis of waste activated sludge (WAS) results in up to 35% more biogas during the digestion process, and 30% TS more dewatering can be achieved. By using TurboTec® the capacity of existing digesters can be increased or smaller digester can be installed for new treatment plants.
