Lancashire council laboratory to provide PAS 110 analysis

UK AD & BIOGAS EXHIBITOR NEWS

Waste firms can now turn to a long-established local authority laboratory to certify the quality of fertiliser produced through anaerobic digestion.

Lancashire County Council Scientific Services has added PAS 110 analysis to the already extensive range of analytical services it offers to the waste industry.

Andrew Smith, public analyst and chief scientific officer, said:

Anaerobic digestion is a growing area for recycling and renewable energy with new facilities being opened all the time.

Anyone who wants to sell the digestate on the open market will need it to be certified and we’re now among the limited number of labs which can carry out PAS 110 analysis.

We’re also the only local authority laboratory able to provide the full PAS 110 suite of analysis.

Our laboratory prides itself on excellent customer service. We’re conscious that certification is a complicated process and that clients will want to choose a lab which will have the expertise, and be able to invest the time, to help with any problems.

Lancashire County Council Scientific Services will launch the new service at the UK AD & Biogas Conference at Birmingham NEC 3-4 July. If you would like any more information or to discuss your requirements before this date please contact 01772 721660 or visit www.lancashire.gov.uk and search for scientific services.
