MEMBER’S PRESS RELEASE: Purac Puregas awarded another biogas upgrading project in Denmark

Purac Puregas are pleased to announce the placement of a further contract to supply a CApure biogas upgrading plant to Denmark.

The plant in Vrå, North Jutland will upgrade up to 3000 Nm3/h of raw biogas from a co-digestion plant. The upgraded biomethane will be injected in the Danish gas grid. The plant will produce green energy equivalent to the annual consumption of 7,500 homes. The biogas production plant will be built and owned in a 50-50 % joint-venture between E.ON and Grøngas Partner A/S.

Frodi Mortensen, Project Manager E.on said:

GrønGas Vrå have chosen Purac Puregas as supplier for the biogas upgrading plant because of the low methane emissions. Together with heat from a straw boiler and heat integration with the biogas plant, Purac Puragas’ plant has the lowest total cost of ownership seen over a period of 10 years.

Purac Puregas manufacture and supply the unique CApure process capturing over 99.9% of the available biomethane in raw biogas, maximizing gas yields and revenues with a very low operational cost.

Rolf Håkansson, Business Development Manager Purac Puregas AB added:

This shows that energy integration is the key to optimizing plant performance and we’re delighted to be able to help lower the overall energy costs for the plant.

With more than 15 years of experience Purac Puregas provides fully integrated solutions for biogas upgrading and have over 20 plants already operating across Europe.
