Our survey said – AD Certification Scheme!

Following weeks of consideration and engagement with stakeholders, culminating in a survey of our members and other interested parties, we have now decided to rename the Best Practice Scheme the AD Certification Scheme (ADCS). The scheme will sit within our ‘Best Practice Programme’ along with other work that we do on improving standards.

This is illustrated here:

We have done our best to take into account all major concerns and preferences regarding the scheme name. The decision to go with AD Certification Scheme was made as the name was by far the most popular name in our survey, receiving 41% of the votes (with the next highest receiving 16%), and because we consider it is clear and simple. We will now finalise the scheme website and documents to ensure that we get the message out about what the scheme is and why operators should get involved. We hope that the wider Best Practice Programme (illustrated above) will provide broad scope for all of our members and others in the sector to get involved with raising standards in the sector.

A huge thank you to all those who responded to the survey and provided their views – it is much appreciated and we look forward to your continued input as we progress to scheme launch and beyond.

We are holding a launch session at the National Conference on 7th December in London, and we hope to see lots of you there! As always, if you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to get in touch with me at jessica.allan@adbioresources.org.
