PROjEN BioEnergy launches analytical laboratory service

PROjEN BioEnergy has set up an independent anaerobic digestion analytical chemistry laboratory near their HQ at Preston Brook in Cheshire. This state of the art facility will be available to support farmers, developers, existing plant operators and compliance schemes for digestate and compost.

To get the best out of an AD plant, an analytical approach to AD plant design, operation and maintenance is best. This needs the services of a high quality specialist laboratory that fully understands how to process and analyse the inherently difficult materials correctly.

Dr Les Gornall, PROjEN BioEnergy Lead process consultant, said:

This is really exciting for me as I am putting 35 years hands-on experience into the development of the laboratory facility and services.

Data from our laboratory will be used to put real monetary value on feedstock, optimise digester operation and evaluate digestate quality for compliance.

With the easily digested feedstock more difficult to find, the laboratory allows our process engineers to develop exciting new biological processes for difficult feedstock.

PROjEN BioEnergy will launch the new service at the UK AD & Biogas Conference at Birmingham NEC 3-4 July.
