MEMBER PRESS RELEASE – ADCS – Triple Success for Bio Capital

MEMBER PRESS RELEASE  –  ADCS – Triple Success for Bio Capital

As of 9th August 2022, a further three Bio Capital plants have achieved certification under the Anaerobic Digestion Certification Scheme (ADCS), the only certification scheme in the UK that assesses the all-round safety, environmental and operational performance of anaerobic digestion (AD) plants.

Energen Biogas (North Lanarkshire), Emerald Biogas (Durham) and Barkip Biogas (North Ayrshire) have all now successfully completed the independent process to secure this “mark of efficiency, best practice and professionalism in Anaerobic Digestion Operation”.

This brings the total ADCS accredited plants in the group to four, alongside Granville Eco Park (Tyrone).

The scheme is a key element of the Anaerobic Digestion and Bioresources Association’s (ADBA) Best Practice Programme, to improve standards in the industry. Developed by ADBA and industry stakeholders it aims to ensure the delivery of “consistently high quality, compliant and profitable projects that protect employees and respect and support their local community and environment”.

Our Group Head of SHEQ, Tom Bateson, said:

We are thrilled that Energen, Emerald and Barkip have now achieved ADCS accreditation. The teams at each respective site, and the SHEQ team, have worked diligently to attain these certifications over the past months and this accomplishment is a testament to their efforts.”

This accreditation gives us the confidence that we are attaining the highest standards in the industry and further shows Bio Capital’s vision for constant progression across our sites, always pushing forward to ensure we achieve absolute best practice across the board for our employees, our facilities and the environment.
