MEMBER PRESS RELEASE  – Finning to lead growth of biogas power with membership of Anaerobic Digestion and Bioresources Association

MEMBER PRESS RELEASE  – Finning to lead growth of biogas power with membership of Anaerobic Digestion and Bioresources Association

Finning, sole dealer of Cat® power solutions in the UK & Ireland, has signed up to join the Anaerobic Digestion and Bioresources Association (ADBA), underlining the company’s commitment to lower and zero carbon power technology.

Anaerobic digestion has a crucial role to play in the energy transition, as the biogas produced by this process represents a sustainable alternative to carbon-intensive fossil fuels. Finning has been pioneering its use in a range of applications for several years and the new membership of ADBA, the organisation at the forefront of this technology, will allow it to ensure the latest developments can be carried through to the market as effectively as possible.

Kelly Cole, Finning General Manager

Kelly Cole, General Manager for Finning explains: “The use of biogas has been an important part of our offer for some time, as Cat gas gensets are designed to help make the most of the potential environmental and economic benefits. Our experts have helped customers in sectors ranging from utilities to food production and agriculture to take advantage of this through applications such as combined heat and power (CHP) systems.

“But we have only just begun to realise the full potential of biogas as a lower carbon fuel, and so joining ADBA is a natural step for us to take. We are excited to be working with the association’s experts and other members in exploring how we can best help customers to implement more sustainable power solutions.”
Established in 2009, ADBA represents over 300 organisations from operators and equipment suppliers through to gas distribution networks. Its goal is to promote and facilitate the growth of the anaerobic digestion industry in the UK.

Mark Galbraith, Business Development Director for ADBA commented: “We are delighted to welcome Finning to the Association. Anaerobic digestion has such an important role to play in decarbonising the UK and having the expertise Finning possess in power technology will be of great value as we continue to promote these benefits.”
