Biogas: delivering sustainable growth, energy security and a circular economy

The UK Anaerobic Digestion and Bioresources Association is pleased to share the preliminary programme for our flagship event, the ADBA National Conference 2025, taking place on 10 December near the Houses of Parliament.

This year’s agenda has been developed in collaboration with our Content Steering Committee, a panel of leading UK experts and industry representatives. Drawing on their combined expertise, the programme is designed to tackle the sector’s most urgent challenges while providing delegates with practical, actionable insights to support day-to-day operations and long-term strategy.

What to expect

From policy and regulation to innovation, operations and global markets, the conference will hold the essential discussions required to advance the UK’s biomethane sector and accelerate the transition to net zero.

Key themes include:

  • Biomethane’s role in energy security and net zero
  • The future of small-scale AD and off-grid solutions
  • The CHP crossroads: challenges and opportunities
  • Best practice in nutrient recovery and digestate management
  • Operations in focus: methane slip, leak detection and performance compliance
  • Unlocking AD potential for food waste
  • Impacts of the Simpler Recycling rollout
  • Accelerating the next generation of AD

All the talks will be led by industry leaders, ensuring discussions that are both authoritative and directly relevant to the sector’s future. Attendees will also benefit from networking sessions throughout the day.

WHAT PEOPLE HAVE SAID ABOUT ADBA EVENTS

“This was a terrific event that I personally got a lot out of. The quality of the speakers was very good and the subjects had something for everyone.”

Jason Taylor CEng, SGS

“Networking, exchange, a wide range of excellent presentations and discourse. There is a reason why after 15 editions of this event, it is full and buzzing with conversation. There is a particular pre-Christmas end of year magical feel to it and after around 10 attendances, I look forward to next year’s National Conference.”

David Hurren, DAH Consulting

“Having not attended the event before, I feel the ADBA Team put on a great day for all involved.”

Patrick Lewis, Gamber Poultry Litter
