Venue: Online

Please note: the date changed to Tuesday, 7th February

Back by popular demand! The Anaerobic Digestion and Bioresources Association (ADBA) is putting on this training session on “AD Plant Optimisation” so you minimise problems, improve process performance and ultimately get the best from your AD plant.

Course objectives

This 1-day course will improve your knowledge of the AD process so you can increase output and process stability. The course also develops staff competency in criteria 3 and 4 of the AD Certification Scheme.

Time

9:30am to 4:30pm on Tuesday, 7th February, 2023 (NEW DATE)

Location

Online on Zoom

Course content

This course addresses the biological processes at the heart of AD: how to monitor activity, recognise trends, understand the operations; how to influence the biology to resolve issues and optimise output. The day starts with an overview of optimisation and a comparison with maximisation. It goes on to consider a range of factors affecting the biology of AD and how to ensure a healthy plant – with appropriate real-life examples from plants across the UK. Find out about the most common issues affecting performance, such as foaming and gritting, as well as a range of other factors that can impact efficiency and ultimately profit.

Themes:

– Introduction to AD and the biology basics
– Monitoring biological health and efficiency
– AD process metrics and performance indicators
– Troubleshooting instability
– AD plant design for process stability – an overview

The course covers both mechanical and biological processes, with ample opportunity for delegates to ask questions and discuss their particular plant issues. Breaks included.

Course is intended for

The course is vital for both experienced operatives and beginners at all types of AD plants. It considers the different design parameters for plants, including feedstock, operating conditions, end product quality, size and scale and much more. Participants can network with each other during the breaks.

ADBA members get a discount, but non-members are still encouraged to attend the course.

94% of the previous AD Plant Optimisation Training said the course was what they expected. And 94% felt they furthered their knowledge. Here is more feedback from the participants:

– “One of the best training courses that I have attended. I would absolutely recommend it”
– “informative and enjoyable”
– “clearly understood, acceptable and actionable”
