Nijhuis H2OK to present the latest Nijhuis innovations at UK AD & Biogas 2014

EXHIBITOR NEWS

Nijhuis H2OK are exhibiting at the UK AD & Biogas 2014 exhibition and conference, organised by ADBA, the UK’s biggest trade show dedicated exclusively to AD and biogas.

Nijhuis H2OK will showcase the latest innovative wastewater treatment and waste to value solutions, demonstrating the capabilities of Nijhuis Industries across a variety of industries where we have helped customers to realise the value of (waste) water, increase production, reduce costs and achieve environmental and customer compliance.

Nijhuis H2OK operates as a specialist wastewater treatment and waste to value turnkey solution provider with the inhouse skills and technical knowledge to offer clients turnkey projects, from design, through civil and mechanical/electrical construction to post completion operations. Anaerobic digestion (AD) plants are an increasingly popular method of maximising waste to value. Nijhuis H2OK has designed numerous AD plants over the past five years and offers full design services, covering all aspects including tanks, services, access and waste handling.

Nijhuis H2OK provides customised technologies and system integration capabilities based on our state-of-the-art technologies and a wide range of tailor-made services.

Tim Cunliffe, Managing Director, Nijhuis H2OK, said:

For decades Nijhuis Water Technology has been a prominent and leading supplier of wastewater treatment systems and solutions around the world. Today we successfully deliver state-of-the-art, effective and efficient systems, solutions and services to treat effluent, process water, biogas and air across a wide range of industries. With over 2400 references Nijhuis has gained a wealth of knowledge and expertise focussing on the food, beverage, dairy, textile, pharmaceutical, oil, gas and agricultural industry.

At this year’s AD&Biogas 2014 the following highlights are presented:

  • Aecomix™ – anaerobic treatment of wastewater with high TSS and/or fats, oil and greases, combined in one integrated system. This unique and robust single step process solution can be applied in the food & beverage industry converting organic matter into biogas with a total removal efficiency on organic matter of up to 98%.
  • Taurus – Designed to digest high solids content food waste or other products for the production of biogas and digestate.
  • UASB – Designed to effectively reduce COD in liquid waste and to produce biogas. This is primarily applied wherever sufficient COD exists and low solids content liquid waste is generated.
  • Digestate treatment and sludge management – solid / liquid separation and recovery of valuable raw materials like ammonia.
  • Intelligent-DAF, the next generation dissolved air flotation technology, combining the highest efficiency against the lowest possible life-cycle cost. With a 30% lower energy consumption per m3 treated water, a substantial higher sludge loading capacity, smarter internals, a dynamic level control and remote monitoring features Nijhuis is showing it is market leadership.
  • Containerised solutions – Nijhuis industries has also added containerised solutions for anaerobic wastewater treatment to the company’s extensive portfolio.

The Aecomix™ has been nominated for a UK AD & Biogas Industry Award in the Innovation in process efficiency/optimisation category. The innovative technology is a new anaerobic reactor based on solids retention by Dissolved Air Flotation. This robust, unique single-step concept offers food & beverage plants the possibility of treating waste waters and organic waste streams in one reactor.

The Aecomix™ factors of excellence are:

  • A single process to convert a mix of wastewater and organic wastes in one anaerobic reactor into an energy source.
  • Gentle mixing and gentle separation preserves biomass and biomass activity
  • No contact with air, preserves the biomass (methanogenic)
  • High performance
  • Highly adaptable to local requirements and conditions
  • Simple and stable process

Visitors are also invited to participate in the ADBA seminar on 3 July in the Green Seminar Theatre where our experts will present the Nijhuis Aecomix™ as part of the ‘Business Case for Onsite Food & Drink’ (15.00 – 15.55).
