Kirk Environmental wins at Lancashire Business Environment Award

ADBA MEMBER PRESS RELEASE

Kirk Environmental, part of Kirk Group, has won the Environmental Innovation Award for SMEs at this year’s Lancashire Business Environment Awards.

Now in the 17th year, this award showcases the most innovative and effective initiatives by Lancashire business for achieving sustainability and implementing smart business practice. The award ceremony was held at Ewood Park, Blackburn and organised by Groundwork Pennine Lancashire. The Environmental Innovation Award recognised new technologies or services that other organisations would benefit from, with a wide and positive environmental impact. The product needed to be tried and tested to enter the awards, with quantified benefits to business practices, environmental impact and sustainability.

Kirk was awarded the first place for their industry-leading BIODOME® Double Membrane Gas Holders, which this year has seen some innovative advancements in product specifications and greater safety control levels. Recent strategic partnership developments and considerable investment in R&D have resulted in a change to the equipment offered for both gas pressure relief and air envelope regulation. These improvements, together with bringing the manufacturing of the product back in the UK were recognised on the night for their outstanding contribution to the environment.

Andrew Peace, Managing Director at Kirk Group, said:

It is a great honour to be recognised in our local community for the work we do. We are always reviewing our ever growing product range, always providing excellence in liquid and biogas storage solutions.

The awards ceremony was a great success and Kirk would like to congratulate all the nominated companies and the winners in the other categories and thank you the judging panel for awarding them the first place.
