Date From: 06 April 2016
Description: This free-of-charge webinar explains some of the technical aspects to take into account when designing a commercial anaerobic digestion plant. It's a follow-up to the very well-received online presentation given by Dr Amaya Arias-Garcia (Goals Project Management and Engineering Support Ltd) in September 2015 to launch the Environment Special Interest Group's series of webinars around the broad topic of 'air'. The follow-up webinar is jointly organised by the Environment Special Interest Group, and the Water Special Interest Group.
Event Type: Webinar
Venue: Online, 10:00-11:00 BST
Dr Amaya Arias-Garcia will explain some of the technical aspects to take into account when designing a commercial anaerobic digestion (AD) plant. The presentation will cover: site layout, drainage, water management, pre-treatment, contamination, mixing, pumps, safety systems, safety and monitoring instrumentation, odour management, digestate management and finally gas cleaning and utilisation. It will also outline methods for risk identification and management to ensure process safety and successful projects. (Please note that detailed design calculations will not be covered.)
The webinar will provide practical advice to design engineers starting in the AD industry, and anyone considering building an AD plant with no previous experience.
It is a follow-up to the very well-received webinar given for the Environment Special Interest Group by Dr Arias-Garcia in September 2015, where the principles of AD were explained and the coverage of the engineering disciplines was presented.
The follow-up webinar is jointly organised by the Environment Special Interest Group, and the Water Special Interest Group. It is free of charge and open to all.
