Scam warning: Conventions Housing Bureau (CHB) and International Fairs Directory We have received

We have received information that a scam company is contacting UK AD & Biogas 2016 exhibitors and visitors, trying to sell accommodation during the event.

Conventions Housing Bureau (CHB) is using our name and our show UK AD & Biogas to try to get exhibitors and visitors to book accommodation with them. Please ignore any communication from CHB. You can view an example of an email that they have sent here.

We have also received information that another ongoing scam has emerged once again. International Fairs Directory, formerly known as Expo Guide, has once again posted a letter using our name and our trade show UK AD & Biogas to request a data update for ADBA members' and UK AD & Biogas exhibitors' businesses. Please ignore this letter if you receive it. You can view an example of the letter here.

If you happen to have been caught out by the scam do not respond and do not pay. The scam company will threaten legal action, but these threats are idle and nobody has ever been successfully taken to court by this company.

We only work with trusted partners who we will introduce to you. We also never forward your details to third parties who do not work for ADBA.

If you are ever unsure whether communications have come from ADBA, please do not hesitate to check with us.

For your information, the list of official show contractors is:

Event Express/ Crowne Plaza – Accommodation

Index Group – Shell, Electrics, Floorcovering, Furniture and Floral

MCL Create – AV supplies

CEVA Showfreight  Lifting, Freight & Logistics

QRS – Registration & Data Capture

Showplans – Floorplan & Exhibitor Appointment Bookings – Showplans

The NEC – On stand catering and venue services

However none of these companies will be making direct contact with exhibitors until after the exhibitor manual is live at the end of March.

NB: We have had a message from a member that a similar letter was received on 18th November 2016. Please be vigilant and do not respond to these letters.
