About Us

We Are Orchard is a management agency for associations that actively contribute to the development of an environmentally friendly circular economy. We are a small business with a big impact, working effectively to build key stakeholder relations and leverage the membership of the associations we manage, namely the Anaerobic Digestion and Bioresources Association (ADBA) and the World Biogas Association (WBA).

 

What you will be doing

You will work in a specialised team where you will get the opportunity to develop and demonstrate your skills in several different areas, including identifying new sources of data and methods to improve data collection, analysis and reporting, policy development & project management.  You will be supporting the Policy Lead in delivering the policy plans for ADBA and WBA through a range of ongoing policy projects in the renewable industry and circular economy space.

We are seeking an experienced Policy Analyst to work within our Science and Policy team to help us develop a strong evidence base for the policy strategy in our associations, ADBA and WBA, and build momentum for the adoption and rollout of technologies (Anaerobic Digestion, biogas and complementary technologies) which support the creation of a more circular economy in the UK and globally.

 

The Role – Policy Analyst

  • Responsible for developing the evidence base which informs our policy thinking and helps set the direction of the biogas and anaerobic digestion industry at large.
  • Support association members with requests for information, providing market analysis to help inform their decision-making.
  • Lead the analysis for a number of high-quality reports, including regular market and policy reports, as well as one-off reports looking at specific aspects of the anaerobic digestion industry.
  • Feeding into the design of and responding to relevant government consultations
  • Preparing reports and data dashboards for internal and external audiences
  • Presenting analysis and reports at working groups and external events, to promote the work of our organisations and the wider interests of the AD and biogas industry
  • Working closely with the editorial team to provide and review key figures/data and content for the high profile reports, articles and wider trade press

 

Who and What We Are Looking For

  • A bachelor’s degree 2:1 or above in a relevant analytical subject area such as economics, social research, mathematics, engineering, science, geography or environmental sciences
  • Comfortable working with quantitative and qualitative data and be able to draw meaningful insights and conclusions from the data.
  • Demonstrable commitment to sustainability, renewable energy and/or the green economy and a keen interest in Policy issues
  • Previous experience of working in a similar role would be preferable
  • Excellent research skills and strong quantitative analysis skills
  • A proficient communicator, collaborator and relationship manager
  • The ability to author clear, persuasive and accurate written and oral communications
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team and prioritise work effectively to deliver quality output to tight deadlines.

 

What we offer: Package Details

  • £29 – £31K pa
  • 25 days’ holiday + 1 additional day’s holiday near your birthday (This will increase by 1 day on every 2nd anniversary of your joining the Company up to a maximum of 27 days)
