Icknield Gas Limited: Biomethane Facility Operator

Company

Icknield Gas Limited is based in Ipsden, Oxfordshire, and operates one of the first ten biomethane plants to be built in the UK.  Operating since 2014, this anaerobic digestion plant is seeking a successor to the current operator who is retiring after 8 years in post.

Role

The role encompasses all aspects of running the plant, from daily feeding through to maintenance and all areas of operation, working hand in hand with the plant manager and the farming partner in the business.  The plant benefits from a series of full service maintenance agreements covering all major equipment, and the operator works closely with these third parties in both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.

The role involves a certain amount of unsocial hours including being on-call for mechanical failures out of normal working hours.

Skills

Previous experience of anaerobic digestion would be good but is not a pre-requisite, as on the job training will be provided.  The successful candidate should be capable of working with both machinery and electrical appliances, and most importantly should have a positive mental attitude and a strong ‘can do’ nature.

This is a really good opportunity to join a small but very successful team and to assume significant responsibility in running what is a highly efficient and well managed plant.
