Thöni Industriebetriebe GmbH, a family-run Austrian provider of aerobic and anaerobic digestion systems, has been at the forefront of anaerobic digestion (AD) technology since 1991. Specialising in the design and construction of turnkey biogas plants, Thöni offers the TTV* Thöni Continuous High Solids Anaerobic Digestion system for organic waste and the TNV** Thöni Wet Digestion Semi-Dry system for food waste and biogenic residues.
Project Overview:
Commissioned in 2020, the Aberdeen AD facility, developed on behalf of Aberdeen City Council, plays a critical role in the city’s circular economy strategy. Designed to process 80,000 tonnes per year of agricultural waste and food waste, this state-of-the-art facility is integrated into The Event Complex Aberdeen (TECA) energy park, showcasing best-in-class sustainable energy solutions.
