ADBA Chief Executive Charlotte Morton discusses the role of biomethane in decarbonising heat and transport.
A renewable energy facility at the heart of the Isle of Wight has been sold to a London investment firm in a major multi-million pound deal.
Responding to the government's new Feed-In Tariff (FIT) consultation, Charlotte Morton, Chief Executive of the Anaerobic Digestion & Bioresources Association (ADBA), said: “With the Feed-In Tariff (FIT) confirmed to close in just nine months’ time, this was an opportunity for the government to prove that it is committed to providing the investment that is absolutely critical to supporting small-scale renewables, which make a vital contribution to decarbonising and meeting increased demand for electricity in the UK. Unfortunately, this is an opportunity that has been well and truly missed."
The “tide may be turning” for the UK anaerobic digestion (AD) industry, according to the head of the Anaerobic Digestion & Bioresources Association (ADBA).
CooperOstlund, the UK’s leading provider of gas engine specification and maintenance services, was highly commended in the Best AD Support (Technical) category at this year’s AD & Biogas Awards. The ceremony, which recognises excellence across the anaerobic digestion (AD) industry, took place earlier this week (11 July) at the Vox Conference Centre in Birmingham.
The most exciting innovations in anaerobic digestion (AD) and biogas were celebrated in style last night at the AD & Biogas Industry Awards Ceremony 2018.
There are just a few days remaining until world leaders in the anaerobic and biogas fields join together to discuss the future of the burgeoning industry. The UK AD and World Biogas Expo 2018 takes place on July 11 and 12 at the NEC, Birmingham, and will have more than 250 exhibitors from over 50 countries in attendance. This year global manufacturer and supplier of portable and fixed gas analysers, Geotech, will be exhibiting at the show, and will be found at stand E506.
Responding to Ecotricity's introduction of a 'vegan' electricity tariff, Charlotte Morton, Chief Executive of the Anaerobic Digestion & Bioresources Association (ADBA), said: "Ecotricity's campaign serves to highlight the considerable waste generated by society today, which the anaerobic digestion industry recycles into valuable green energy and biofertilisers."
The latest innovation from SEEPEX - Smart Air Injection (patent pending) - combines the advantages of two technologies, progressive cavity pumps and dense phase pneumatic conveying. With this combination it is possible to transport dewatered sludge with high dry solids content over long distances in an energy-efficient manner. Dewatered sludge (or other highly viscous media) is introduced into the pipeline using a progressive cavity pump, forming compacted material which is split into ‘plugs’ and pushed down pipelines of up to 1,000 metres using compressed air.
