Overview

Puragen (formerly CPL Activated Carbons) is a leading and award-winning global manufacturer and supplier of purification solutions based on activated carbon filtration technology. From our UK base, we supply a complete purification solution to a wide range of industrial sectors, including biogas/biomethane, the water industry, the waste sector and food/beverage producers.

In addition to a wide range of FiltraCarb® activated carbons, which include UK-produced reactivated and impregnated versions, we also have an engineering subsidiary Puragen Engineering (formerly CPL Icon) where they produce our range of Clean-Flo® VOCSorber® mobile carbon filters, together with any associated pipework, valves, connections etc. Spent carbons can be sustainably recycled at our UK thermal reactivation facility, where we have a separate process, unique within our industry, for handling high-sulfur spent carbons from the biogas and biomethane sector.  This technology secured us top prize in the 2025 AD & Biogas Industry Awards, in the Research & Innovation category.

We are UK and EU REACH registered and are the only activated carbon supplier to hold three ISO accreditations, for Quality (ISO9001), Environment (ISO14001) and Health & Safety (ISO45001).
