MEMBER’S PRESS RELEASE: PRM Waste Systems announce redesign of AD plant

PRM Waste Systems are proud to announce that we are undertaking the redesign of an AD plant in the UK. The objective was to provide a reliable system for the separation of plastics from food waste.

With CO2 emissions in the UK at approximately 18 million tonnes and almost half of the UK’s annual food waste coming from domestic sources, AD is a cost-effective and environmentally responsible system of waste management that helps to lower the UK's carbon emissions.

This is a busy plant, taking in domestic food waste from local authorities, plus food waste from the hospitality and retail sector as well as from manufacturing. The plant required updating as its previous separation system was no longer reliable or efficient.

PRM designed the system below and provided the following equipment:

  • 2 x Runi SK370 Screw Compactors for AD, 2 x conveyors, plus a platform support frame and all required hoppers.

The commissioning stage is almost complete.
