Green Gas Support Scheme Annual Tariff Review 2024: A Step in the Right Direction, But…
Environment Agency is putting a temporary suspension on the Definition of Waste Service
The Environment Agency’s is temporarily closing the Definition of Waste Service to new submissions while they support the National Permitting Service to deal with the permit application backlog. The suspension will be kept under review, and it is likely that it will be in place until the New Year.
New submissions will no longer be accepted or those where the assessment process hasn’t been started will be stopped but those existing submissions that have been started will be addressed and the Environment Agency is likely to contact those clients. The IsItWaste tool continues to be available to support waste status self-assessment by businesses. In addition Area officers responsible for the regulation of a site that produces waste derived material may be able to offer further advice and guidance on an ad hoc basis.
