Future Solent Green Grant helps SEaB Energy create new jobs

ADBA MEMBER NEWS

SEaB Energy, the global pioneer of mobile micro power plants, is one of the latest companies to have been awarded funding under the Future Solent Green Growth Programme. The grant will create seven new jobs and has already allowed the company to establish a new prototyping facility in Romsey, Hampshire, that will enable it to carry out research and development into future products.

Commenting on this new grant, chief executive, Sandra Sassow said;

As well as creating much needed new jobs in the Solent area, this new funding will provide us with a catalyst to build on our already pioneering technology and enable us to ramp up production to meet our growing customer order book.

The Green Growth Programme was established by Future Solent, a joint initiative between the Partnership for Urban South Hampshire (PUSH), the Hampshire Chamber of Commerce and Solent LEP, and which is supported by the Government’s Regional Growth Fund, giving new and existing SMEs in the low-carbon economy the chance to apply for much needed grant funding.

The last two years has seen whirlwind growth at SEaB Energy, whose multi-award winning, patented, small scale power plants enable food and drinks producers, hospitality companies, farms and retailers to turn their food and other bio wastes into energy and revenue. Last year SEaB Energy scooped the 2013 Resource Revolution Award ‘Technology Trailblazer: Energy-from-Waste’ and was selected as one of the Winners in the 2013 Defense Energy Technology Challenge, held in Hawaii. CEO, Sandra Sassow, was also crowned winner of the inaugural annual Global Pitch Competition at the We Own It Summit, and in November was chosen as the ‘Eco Entrepreneur of the Year’ at the 2013 Great British Entrepreneur Awards. The company was also selected to join the successful ‘Clean and Cool’ entrepreneurial mission to Brazil in November last year where, through a local channel partner agreement, will soon see the first deployment of SEaB Energy products. The company has also recently appointed new strategic resellers in the UK and in the USA & Caribbean and was chosen as the 2013 Berti Green Accelerator winner where it will benefit from up to £1million in investment and 12 months mentorship from Coller Capital to help nurture their business growth
