Biodome Gas Holder Installations in the USA

ADBA MEMBER NEWS

BIODOME® International, part of Kirk Group, will design and supply a total of seven top-mounted gas holder roofs and two ground-mounted double membrane gas holders to three dairy farms in the Pacific Northwest of the United States.

The industry-leading BIODOME® gas holder system will provide the necessary equipment to extend existing processing plants present on the farms to handle the growing amount of waste produced in the region whilst also creating valuable renewable energy through the anaerobic digestion process.

There is a variety of anaerobic digestion feedstock technically available in the Pacific Northwest region which include pre- and post-consumer food waste, fats, oils and greases, winery and brewery waste and manure. The seven gas holder roofs will be constructed on top of existing digester tanks provided by CST Industries to capture the biogas produced from treating the waste in the tanks and also to reduce the odour currently affecting the areas. Construction is set to commence in May 2014 and the plants will be operational by the end of the summer.
