Great and good of biogas glitter at industry awards
ADBA PRESS RELEASE
This year’s UK AD & Biogas Industry Awards demonstrated the progress and outstanding innovation in all aspects of anaerobic digestion. Brought to you by ADBA, a record number of guests from the anaerobic digestion and biogas industry came together on the evening of 2 July to celebrate how far the sector has come and recognise its achievements.
Hosted by BBC Radio 4 Farming Today presenter Charlotte Smith, this year’s event saw the introduction of new award categories including best supporting service, best small scale AD project, best on-farm AD project, best merchant AD project and best food and drink industry project, reflecting the remarkable versatility of AD technology.
Congratulating the award winners ADBA chief executive Charlotte Morton said:
After another year of stellar growth in the AD sector, the UK AD & Biogas Industry Awards is an excellent opportunity to reflect on the industry’s achievements. The huge number of quality entries received this year demonstrated the sheer grit and determination of the AD industry to keep innovating and improving.
Set against a challenging policy background for renewables and continued economic difficulty, the anaerobic digestion industry has continued to fight for the recognition it deserves, resulting in some tough decisions for the judges and a superb set of winners.
Charlotte Smith, BBC Radio Four Farming Today presenter, and awards host said:
“I am very excited to host these awards which celebrate this growing industry.”
