MEMBER PRESS RELEASE – Puragen Wins Global Silver at Green World Awards

ADBA members Puragen have been recognised with a Global Silver award at the prestigious Green World Awards 2026 held at Cardiff Castle.

The company has been recognised for their  innovative CR3 process in the “Engineering & Manufacturing – Energy Generation” category.

Puragen’s CR3 process enables the recycling of spent activated carbon heavily loaded with sulfur, traditionally considered unrecoverable and disposed of as waste. By restoring these high-sulphur carbons for reuse, CR3 supports a more circular and resource-efficient approach to biogas and biomethane purification.

The award highlights the company’s continued leadership in environmental technology and its commitment to advancing more sustainable solutions. It also marks the second consecutive year the company has received a major global award from The Green Organisation, winning Global Gold in the “Pollution & Emission Control” category in 2025 for their PFAS abatement technology, “Search, Capture & Destroy.”

David Reay, Head of Strategic Partnerships at Puragen commented, ”Puragen is incredibly proud of the collective effort behind this innovation and the impact it’s having across the sector. This award reinforces Puragen’s commitment to delivering technically advanced, sustainable purification solutions.”

Representing Puragen at the ceremony were team members Tony Jolly, Nick Garrett and Emma Brown, who attended the event in Cardiff to receive the award.

The company thanks the organisers of the Green World Awards and congratulates all of their team involved in these great achievements.
