MEMBER PRESS RELEASE: QED acquires leading Italian safety instrumentation systems manufacturer
As part of its global growth strategy, leading manufacturer of environmental monitoring and remediation equipment, QED Environmental Systems has recently acquired Italian based safety instrumentation systems manufacturer – Huberg.
Established in 1987, Huberg is known among industry professionals as a manufacturer of safety instrumentation systems for the gas and water mains supply. Through the years, Huberg’s goal has been to provide customers with well-engineered products, continuous innovation, professional information and consulting, as well as customised services, all to guarantee the highest quality and reliability.
Amongst Huberg’s product portfolio that will be acquired by QED, is the state-of-the-art Laser One product. This is a professional instrument used for the detection and localisation of methane gas leaks using high precision laser technology. It is selective and requires no cylinder, therefore making it suitable for the detection of leaks in underground and aerial pipelines, and for use in surface emissions monitoring in the landfill gas industry. The product, which is ATEX certified is truly innovative as it is equipped with GPS antenna and Bluetooth for data transfer from the instrument to a PC or PDA.
Commenting on the acquisition, Dean Kavanagh, MD from QED said:
We are incredibly excited to have acquired a strong and innovative company such as Huberg, that will provide us with new and diverse market opportunities. The ethos we work with here at QED is very similar to that practiced at Huberg and I am confident this acquisition will strengthen our place in the global industry. The technology and innovation at Huberg is second to none and we strongly believe that with their high-tech product portfolio, we will drive the industry forward.
To ensure a smooth transition over the last three months, Huberg has continued to operate the business from Bolzano. This has now been relocated to QED’s new state-of-the-art facility in the UK which has now become the design, manufacturing, calibration, sales, and marketing centre for all Huberg products.
This acquisition follows QED’s recent acquisition and re-branding of gas analysis technology manufacturer – Geotech.
