MEMBER’S PRESS RELEASE: New partnership offers exciting prospect for food waste sector

On 31 March 2015, Martin GmbH für Umwelt- und Energietechnik, Munich (Germany) and Thöni Industriebetriebe GmbH, Telfs (Austria) have signed an exclusive agreement for long-term cooperation. Under the terms of this agreement Martin obtained the rights to exclusively promote and build Thöni dry digestion (TTV) plants for the anaerobic treatment of organic waste in selected European countries as well as in Australia and New Zealand. The core components for these plants will be supplied by Thöni. This new partnership will focus on a close cooperation with regards to the respective experience in construction and operation aiming at promoting research and development of TTV plants.

Thöni TTV plants have a proven business track record for the dry digestion of organic waste. The TTV process produces energy, heat, biomethane and fertiliser from organic waste and hence returns valuable resources back into the environmental cycle. The core components are manufactured in the Thöni in-house metal workshops in Landeck (Austria). Martin has decades of experience in the engineering and construction of large-scale industrial plants and has broad access to many important markets.

The cooperation of two medium-sized family owned companies is the perfect basis for a wider market penetration of the TTV process. Benefitting from numerous synergies the well established Martin product-portfolio will be complemented in an ideal way in the field of thermal waste treatment.
