Site producing 5,000 tonnes in the next year of modified and activated biochar catalyst for biogas plants across the UK & Ireland

United Kingdom – August 2025 – RAFT Energy Ltd is proud to announce the opening of its UK-based production facility in the Cotswolds, dedicated to manufacturing its modified and activated biochar for UK and Irish plants.

The site is set to produce 5,000 tonnes in the next 12 months, with the capacity to scale further to meet growing demand from the UK and Irish renewable energy sectors.

“This is a big milestone for RAFT Energy and for our customers” says Karl Ahmed, Co-Founder & COO. “Having a UK manufacturing base means we can deliver faster, reduce logistics costs, and provide an even more sustainable supply chain for the biogas industry.”

With sustainability and innovation at its core, the facility will help biogas and RNG plants maximise output while contributing to a circular, low-carbon energy system.

Alongside the UK launch, RAFT Energy is also constructing a new production site in Germany, scheduled for completion in Q4, further expanding its European footprint and production capacity.
