MEMBER PRESS RELEASE – Renewable Energy Leader Agrivert Expands with Acquisition of Chiltern Solar Limited

Tuesday 10th October 2023 – Oxfordshire based Agrivert has acquired the entire share capital of Buckinghamshire based Chiltern Solar Limited, a provider of solar PV and battery storage solutions, from its founders, Steve & Julie Gamston.

Agrivert has specialised in engineering and operating renewable energy assets for almost 30 years. Since 2010, Agrivert’s primary focus has been on producing biomethane to generate renewable energy through the design, build and operation of anaerobic digestion facilities that treat food waste, agricultural wastes and energy crops. The acquisition of Chiltern Solar broadens Agrivert’s renewable energy product offering, further enabling it to deliver on its strategy of delivering high-quality design, installation and operational services for renewable energy to customers.

Phil Earl, Agrivert’s Chief Executive said: “We are delighted to welcome the Chiltern Solar team into the Agrivert family. Expanding Agrivert’s capabilities into other forms of renewable energy is an important next step for the group as we continue to grow. This acquisition allows us to widen our customer base but also enables us to bring new solutions to our existing customers and opportunities for our staff. We have been very impressed with Chiltern Solar’s growth in recent years, their capability and expertise in solar PV and look forward to accelerating that as part of Agrivert.

Having built the business from scratch over a decade ago and undertaken well over 1,000 installations in the past five years, consistently getting five-star reviews from customers, Chiltern Solar’s founders decided the time is right for the next phase of growth to be under new ownership and management.

Steve Gamston, Chiltern Solar’s Founder said: “Julie and I are very excited that Chiltern Solar is to be joining forces with the Agrivert group for the next chapter of business growth and expansion. This strategic move opens doors to new resources, expertise and opportunities and will enable the business to extend its reach and increase its impact in the Solar PV marketplace. Our decision to sell Chiltern Solar was made with confidence in Agrivert’s commitment to upholding our values, their proven track record in the renewable energy sector, and their vision for continued growth and success.

There will now be a period of transition as Agrivert integrates Chiltern Solar’s operations team and processes into the wider group and allowing, in time, for Steve & Julie Gamston to retire.

For Agrivert’s existing customers, bringing a solar PV and battery storage offering into the group provides customers with the ability to integrate solar into new or existing renewable energy projects, reducing parasitic load demand from the grid or biogas produced and improving overall carbon footprint.
