MEMBER’S PRESS RELEASE: BioConstruct signed up for new AD projects in UK

Bioconstruct: UK-projects in 2016 sum up to more than 17 MW of installed electric capacity

Melle, 26.07.2016: BioConstruct GmbH managed to expand its market position within the UK by signing up for two new waste-to-energy projects in UK within the last two weeks. Both projects will treat pumpable waste and will benefit from the ROC system, which is applicable until end of March 2017. The project in Hartlepool (Middlesbrough) will have an electrical installed capacity of app. 5,1 MW and the one in North Cave (East Yorkshire) app. 3,5 MW. The construction works for both plants have already commenced. The combined heat and power generators (CHPs) will be commissioned before end of March 2017.

Henrik Borgmeyer, Managing Partner of BioConstruct GmbH, states:

Both projects are challenging but together with our proven partners and experienced team we are confident to build both projects within the anticipated timeframe. This year, we expanded our market position significantly and took on a very broad range of different AD projects. To name just a few we built two 500 kW-plants for an abattoir and a fruit waste treatment facility, a gas-to-grid project with app. 1,000 nm³ of raw gas and, of course, not to forget, the 5,1 MW-project Imperial Park in Middlesbrough. All UK-projects sum up to more than 17 MW of installed electric capacity.

BioConstruct’s sister company BioConstruct NewEnergy Ltd. is able to provide maintenance and operational services for AD plants in the UK. Kai H. Roth, Director of BioConstruct NewEnergy Ltd. comments:

We are glad that we are appointed for full O&M contracts for the 5 MW projects Imperial Park and Hartlepool which are exciting plants and give us a good basis for offering our services also for other plants throughout the UK. Our strength is broad experience based on our connection to and partnership with BioConstruct GmbH of which several synergy effects do result; last but not least the experience of having built over 250 AD plants worldwide, being a shareholder in over 21 AD plants and operating 6 AD plants completely by ourselves.

With these latest contracts, the company from Melle in Lower Saxony has made another successful step in establishing itself as a leading provider in Europe.
