MEMBER’S PRESS RELEASE: New identity for oldest UK Agricultural Energy Consultancy

New identity for oldest UK Agricultural Energy Consultancy

Farm Energy Centre, the Stoneleigh based agricultural energy consultancy, is changing its name to FEC Energy on the 1st September 2016.

Farm Energy Centre was originally the Farm Electric Centre – a part of the nationalised electricity industry – and many visitors to the now defunct Royal Show will remember its offices at the National Agricultural Centre in Stoneleigh.

The business celebrates its 50th year in 2017 and has grown into a multi-million pound consultancy operating across agriculture and, more recently, into the commercial and industrial business world.  It operates the NFU Energy Service and trades over £50m of energy for more than 1500 clients around the country.

Over the last few years, it has used an ‘alter ego’, Gateway Energy Solutions, to operate its commercial arm, but management have now decided to bring the whole operation under one roof to become FEC Energy.

Managing director, Andrew Kneeshaw commented:

“As the company expands, we are finding the two areas cross over more and more. Having one name will help clarify our business for our customers and our own staff, as well as making the delivery of our services more efficient and coherent. Although the Farm Energy Centre name will disappear, everything else will remain the same and there will be no changes to the team or the services we offer”.
