MEMBER’S PRESS RELEASE: Structured learning drives potential at Balmoral
UK manufacturing company, Balmoral Tanks, has seen its first tranche of Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM) graduates successfully complete Level One of the company’s in-house leadership development programme.
Working with ILM Recognised Provider, Buffin Leadership International, The Balmoral Leadership Academy curriculum is structured over three levels and includes modules in effective communication, decision making, innovation and managing people. Level one is fully endorsed by the ILM and Balmoral is working towards full accreditation for levels two and three.
As a leading supplier of water storage and treatment solutions to the global market the company seeks to differentiate itself in many ways, not least by investing in the development of its leaders of today and tomorrow. The Balmoral Leadership Academy programme was awarded full ILM recognition in 2015 while the company achieved Investor in People status in 2014.
Managing director, Allan Joyce, said:
To create great products you need great people; to run great companies you require great leaders. Our team has consistently shown itself to be the best in the business and to have that recognised by ILM qualifications is a great reflection of the hard work that takes place here.
I believe we are the only tank manufacturing company that takes a proactive approach to the academic development of its leadership team and this has a very positive effect throughout the whole organisation.
Operating from two UK facilities Balmoral Tanks provides water storage solutions to a range of sectors including public water, wastewater, anaerobic digestion, fire fighting and numerous processing applications.
The UK Government review, ‘Leadership & Management in the UK – the key to sustainable growth’ emphasised the role of good leadership and management in helping the country achieve sustainable economic prosperity and growth. This applies to all organisations, regardless of size, sector or location. Strong leadership and management is a key factor in fostering innovation, unlocking the potential of the workforce and ensuring organisations have the right strategies to drive productivity and growth.
Joyce concluded:
We set ourselves apart through a commitment to customer focus, added value engineering and personnel development.
