ADBA invites members to attend industry QP workshop
ADBA, CIWM, ESA and the REA recently submitted confirmation to the Environment Agency (EA) that industry will be supporting the revision of the Compost and Anaerobic Digestate Quality Protocols (QPs). The EA have confirmed that following industry commitment to provide funding, these QPs will not be withdrawn at the end of May and will remain in force during the revision process as long as progress is being made. On the 9th and 10th June, this group of trade associations will be hosting workshops to discuss the key issues relevant to QP revision prior to their first Task and Finish Group meeting with the EA. The ADQP workshop will be hosted on the 10th June 14.00 – 16.00 and the Compost QP will be hosted on the 9th June 14.00 – 16.00.
Each workshop will set out the core issues and evidence already presented to the EA during the QPs review exercise. During the workshops we would like to review these, identify gaps in the evidence base, collate further evidence, and allow industry to bring forward any additional requests. We invite members of the above-named bodies, as well as producers subscribed to REAL’s CCS and BCS, to register their interest for the workshops via the forms below.
These workshops are intended to be interactive and we urge participants to come prepared to share their thoughts and evidence where possible. Should you have any questions or wish to supply feedback in advance, please email leanne.williams@adbioresources.org. A collated list of issues from the QPs review exercise will be circulated for each QP prior to the workshops, to develop industry-prioritised lists of issues for the T&FG to consider when scoping out and costing the revision work for each QP.
