MEMBER’S PRESS RELEASE: Purac Puregas Expand UK Team
Purac Puregas are pleased to announce that they are expanding their team in the UK to help serve their increasing customer base.
John Gailes joins Purac Puregas as a Process Technician with responsibility for the routine maintenance of our biogas upgrading plants. John has over 25 years’ experience in the gas separation and purification industry and brings a wealth of capabilities to the team.
A key aspect of his role will also focus on plant optimisation and maintaining high levels of availability, which are typically 98%.
Technical Director, Tony Hales, said:
People are beginning to understand the importance of availability. In addition to methane recovery, availability is key to maximising long term revenues. Our aim is to maintain that reliability throughout the plants 20 year life not just its initial warranty period.
The CApure process recovers over 99.9% of the biomethane present in the raw biogas, by chemically adsorbing the CO2. The selective organic solvents used in this process are highly efficient, resulting in an end product containing more than 99% methane. The biomethane can be of high enough calorific value to be directly injected into the natural gas grid without the need to enrich with propane saving significant costs.
With more than 15 years of experience Purac Puregas provides fully integrated solutions for biogas upgrading and have over 20 plants already operating across Europe.
Protecting our Environment
CApure technology achieves the highest methane recovery, reducing methane slip to below 0.1%. There is no hidden additional cost or energy requirement associated with treating the tail gas and harmful emissions to the environment are avoided.
The long life, biodegradable organic solvents used in the CApure process are part of a closed-loop system and water consumption is kept to a minimum.
