Robin has been involved in the AD sector for more than 25 years.  After graduating in Horticultural Science from Wye College, University of London, he studied for his PhD researching compost biology and microbial substrate-interactions.  He then worked for ADAS before becoming senior horticultural adviser for Scotland.  Robin founded Target Renewables Ltd. in the early 2000s; focusing on high-solids AD as a product-oriented solution to generate not only renewable energy but also quality digestate as both a primary product and composted materials as blended / finished value-added material.  Robin was a core-team author of both PAS100 and PAS 110 and of the ADBA Practical Guide to AD.  Recent projects both in the UK and particularly in Scandinavia, range from multi-investor platforms for large-scale integrated renewable energy and heat networks to off-grid AD applications for remote communities in the Arctic.  Robin is an honorary lecturer in Environmental Engineering at Aberdeen University.
