Winning the Large Business award at the East Anglian Daily Times Business awards ceremony came as a delightful surprise. To then pick up the Business of the Year award was astounding.

The winner of the Business of the Year trophy is chosen from the best of the best of all the category winners.  Melissa Abbott and Mary Narey of Muntons received the trophy from Amber Brinkley of EDF Energy and Sarah Howard of Suffolk Chamber of Commerce, representing the joint main sponsors of the awards for the fourth year running. The Large Business category, sponsored by Larking Gowen, was open to businesses with annual turnover of more than £5 million.

In our company we take pride in everything we do and have a passion for our products and our business that has become so strong that we now include it in our corporate strapline. Passionate about Malt’ is the guiding principle of our business.

To win these awards shows that this is being recognised within the local community. I can only thank the sponsors and judges for choosing us and the EADT for organising such a well-managed event.

Muntons is a leading global player in the supply of malts, malt extracts, flours and flakes and many other malted ingredients relevant to the food and drinks industry exporting around half of its production.
