Calling all food waste plant operators

As part of our food waste working group at ADBA, we have been discussing the possibility of setting up site visits for representatives from local authorities to help them understand what AD is. With the current conversations between Defra and local authorities about rolling out separate food waste collections, we believe that now is the time to be having conversations with authorities and engaging with them about contracts.

Because of this, we would like to host representatives from local authorities that are members of LARAC to visit AD sites that process food waste in England and Northern Ireland.

If you are interested and have any food waste AD plants in England and Northern Ireland, please fill in the attached form and return to myself (joanna.goad@adbioresources.org). Further information is given below:

  • Availability: Ideally, we’d like to have these site visits in late March, April and May so please could you fill out your availability around these times.
  • Capacity: Potential to host around 20 visitors (if not please note how many people your plant can host safely)
  • Meeting room available plus refreshments: we would like to find people (either members of the working group or operators) to give a pre-prepared presentation on what AD is, issues around PAS110 and other topics of interest to LAs. Ideally, if the site has a meeting room and the ability to provide refreshments, that would be great. If not, if you are aware of anywhere nearby that we can host a presentation (sports halls etc.) please record this in the document
  • Address: we need to know where the plant is to ensure that we are getting good coverage across Northern Ireland and England.
